Thomas Merton, the doctor, and a handbag

from w
I'm debating whether to see a doctor for a touch of a kind of night asthma, or go to a Lent study of Thomas Merton the monk, and I think the monk wins. I'll just add my bottle of Brondecon Elixer prescribed at the Naseakula Pharmacy in Fiji by Dr Jhinku a couple of years ago. It seems to work okay.
Herein is some of the contents of my current carry-all bag. No lipstick, no comb. Only going for two hours.

Me again! After half an hour with the Merton class, I coughed like a dog, so took off (after collecting my 20 pages of handouts) to visit the free medical clinic a block away, chewing gum to stave off the coughs. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak! After an hour and twenty minutes of reading the Merton stuff about contemplation and the world, etc. I saw a Sri Lankan doctor who prescribed a puffer and antibiotics. Yeah, I am a bit sick!
I guess it gives me peace of mind to have the tablets etc.
