Backyard three-wheeler bike/wheelchair

A favourite item when small kids come to our place is a kind of three-wheeler bike/wheelchair that was given to us to send with a dozen wheelchairs to Fiji, but it looked so odd that we just kept it. It was built by someone using a chair seat and a bit of this and that. It works by rotating the handlebars and the brake is very good indeed. We inherited large areas of cement in the back yard when we bought this place so it's ideal for racing around. Our block is 220 feet deep so there's plenty of space beside the bungalows.

This looks a great trike for a special needs kid (or any kid) - probably made by an organisation like Technical Aids for the Disabled that makes bespoke items. My daughter used to keep the special school fleet of trikes and bikes in working order as her scouting community service.

Yes, I'm sure it was built for a special needs child. We did not send it in one of the containers to the Pacific because it is very difficult to manoevre and would not work on grass or rough paths, only on very flat cement. It also requires extremely strong arms in the person riding.
